Hello! I’m Shanique, a UX Designer based in Houston, TX, with roots hailing from the beautiful island of Jamaica. I'm a transitioning Branding & Senior Photographer with 5 years of experience in delivering high-quality projects for B2C and B2B clients. My love of people and problem solving has lead me to explore the exciting new world of UX|UI Design. I am an ambitious team player seeking to apply my creativity and can-do attitude to the world of User Experience Design. Through my bootcamp studies, I now have the ability to create and implement novel solutions on a broader, more impactful spectrum. As a natural empath, I intuitively connect with users in order to identify user pain points. As a life-long learner my personal motto is to “listen twice as much as I speak.” With active listening skills I am able to properly identify and solve problems with less bias and deferred judgement. My goal is always to understand user challenges and create solutions when possible.

On a personal level, I enjoy new experiences, cultures, foods and water activities. I love adventures; whether they are in the beautiful mountains of Utah or Colorado, white water rafting in the Rocky Mountains, or jet skiing off the island coast somewhere. I love finding new hobbies and interests. I enjoy bike riding, kayaking, hiking, roller-blading, yoga, and learning new skills.
